Spearpoint is led by its founders Tim Gazzard and Louis Fel.
The team has extensive experience leading global trading desks, managing supply chain logistics, structuring commodity transactions and as directors on various company boards.
We handle complex negotiations with suppliers, end users and governments across the world.
Tim was formerly Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Trading at Noble Group. During more than 12 years at Noble, he also managed several global trading divisions including Specialty Ores & Metals, Iron Ore, Metallurgical Coal and Indonesian Energy Coal. Tim was also responsible for the formation and set up of Kalon Resources - a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Group specialising in industrial and technology metals.
Prior to Noble, Tim worked with Barclays Capital in their Mining & Metals Investment Banking Team, and with Stracon & Thiess as a Mining Engineer and Project Manager in Australia, Indonesia and Peru.
He has more than 20 years’ experience in a variety of commodities across all aspects of the supply chain and extensive executive and board-level experience. He holds an MBA from London Business School, a Graduate Diploma in Finance & Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia, and a Bachelor in Mining Engineering (Hons) from The University of Queensland. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Bahasa.
Louis was Global Head of Marketing for iron ore and the aluminium / alumina complex at Noble Group, where he worked for over 6 years.
Prior to Noble, Louis was CEO and co-founder of globalORE, which became the world's largest iron ore trading platform with Baosteel, BHP, Glencore, Minmetals, Rio Tinto and Vale as founding shareholders. Louis also worked as trade policy officer for the European Commission Delegation to China following China's accession to the WTO and started his career as a commercial lawyer in London.
Louis has over 15 years commodities experience, deep understanding of government policy making, and is both a New York and UK qualified lawyer. He holds an MBA from London Business School and LLB from Durham University. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and French.
